It's now playing in select theaters in the U.S. and Canada, and you should absolutely see it.

And Noah picked another great New York picture, Susan Seidelman's Desperately Seeking Susan.

The 1985 cult classic starring Madonna as the eponymous free spirit, whose habit of contacting her rocker boyfriend through the personal ads catches the attention of a bored New Jersey housewife named Roberta Glass, played by Roseanne Arquette.

Roberta's curiosity leads to an elaborate mix-up that finds her convinced she is Susan, and now she's hiding out from a weird thug with a hunky projectionist, played by Hayden Quinn, while her actual husband and sister-in-law venture into Manhattan's Demi-Mom to find her.

It was a movie that three major casting directors we knew, Juliet Taylor, Ellen Chenoweth, and Gretchen Rennell, could not or did not want to cast that summer.

And they each recommended us to Susan Seidelman, the director, and Michael Pizer, one of the producers.

It was a great fit.

And we cast Desperately Seeking Susan, and our casting career was launched.

And it was a park for a 50-year-old bald man.

And we cast John.

And I'm proud of that because, you know, We surprised the audience and surprised Susan Seidelman, the director, who to her credit was willing to go with what we wanted and trusted us.

Because he was so specific and he owned it, right? And when you own it, nobody can say, oh, you're not playing the breakdown.

Get into the groove

So this is from the soundtrack to Madonna's first movie, Desperately Seeking Susan, which was a Susan Seidelman-directed movie starring Madonna and Rosanna Arquette about mistaken identity and also suburban ennui.

And, you know, this song was...

It's so good.
