The Albanese government is moving to boot the military from Victoria Barracks before Christmas, according to the senator heading the inquiry into the fire sale of more than 60 Australian defence sites.

Jess Collins has told The Telegraph she understands Richard Marle's issued an eviction notice for Vic Barrack's Sydney to Chief of Army Lieutenant General Susan Coyle in the past seven days.

The order requires all military and civilian staff to be, excuse me, gone from the base, acknowledged as the Australian Army spiritual home on or before December 19.

The data is set to correspond with when non-deployed defence personnel start a mandatory leave period for the summer holiday break.

So I've just recently, um, helped with the change of command for, from chief of army, Lieutenant General Simon Stuart, to Lieuten- to Lieutenant General Susan Coyle, and, um, it's great.

We have them in command positions.

And we only have to look at our new chief of army, Susan Coyle.

I always look back at my military career and think and always think of my ancestors that came before me because, like I said before, they did the hard yards.
