So I'm wondering, can you just give us a little bit of an intro to the idea here of what you're unpacking?

Yes.

So we'll start with Julian, who I've come to love so much.

Um, and she, through her a, a contemplative, really full body encounter with Christ on the cross, and then 20 years plus of contemplation of this encounter- She has on what she thinks is her deathbed, turns out not to be.

Um, part of her message to us comes as she's contemplating conversing with God, seeking to understand all that she's seen and experienced, is that, um, she talks a lot about seek to the beholding.

And for her, this is central, that it's a central part of what we are to be about in our life here is this beholding of Christ, beholding of Christ on the cross, Christ as co-suffering love.

And that sense of co-suffering love or, um, from the Greek word kenosis from Philippians 2.

Why is that important?
