Survivorman

i think that it happened and there was no way to go back they were like uh what do we do now it's so stupid so stupid letting them rob each other but not defend themselves somehow i i don't even understand the prim that show pissed me off i i specifically remember being so mad at that show

yeah that was the shitty one alone is better i need to find another one another good survival type show that's not the classic everyone knows like man versus wild or survivor man and Between those, everybody knows Survivor Man is the one to go for.

do like Survivor Man.

I felt like he had the integrity to keep it real.

And sometimes he failed too, which was kind of, you'd think that'd be bad for the show, but it was actually good letting them know that failure can happen.

But sometimes I just want to try to fall asleep to TV, truthfully.

And I stumbled on Survivorman, which is a Canadian TV show.

I'm going to say it's 15 years old, 20 maybe.

Yeah, it's old.

Decades.

But the premise of the show is timeless.

And what happens is a crew drops Survivorman.

His name is Les Stroud.

trust these jokers.

You kind of look like that episode of The Office with Michael when he was Survivorman.

He goes out in the office.

That's kind of what I'm thinking right now.

It's actually kind of surprising.

But I was very, very full of myself and I was like, okay, I'm going to bring out just my Les Stroud kit, you know, my Survivorman kit.

I'm going to have $100 worth of Walmart gear, no tent, a five degree sleeping bag in the middle of winter.

You know, it's minus 25 out and just not prepared at all.

He walked away from all of his relationships, and he disappeared into the Alaskan wilderness.

He's gonna live alone, off the land, kind of Survivorman style.

He's off the grid, and he's unbothered.

But eventually, He's living the dream, but eventually, the isolation, it starts to kick in, and slowly over time, his mentality begins to shift about this whole experience.

I quit a TV editing job.

I worked for the show Survivorman and I was a career editor.

And when we had our first child, that's when I quit, which is a horrible time to quit like a steady paycheck.

It was a great job.

... like some show where they were-

... lost in the woods.

Yeah.

Ugh, I love those shows so much

...

the Survivor Man was telling us, the watchers, that when you find yourself lost in the woods, that the number one thing you have to concern yourself with is getting found.

Mm-hmm.

And this is something good for all of us to know.

And I think I've seen this on Survivorman.

If you're ever lost in the woods, find a stream.

Because that should lead you to people at some point.
