Some of the best seasons of all time, Pearl Islands, China, have very predictable boots.
P
7:13PhilHOST
That's okay.
P
7:15PhilHOST
To get an unpredictable boot every time, you take away votes.

And, you know, Jenna didn't get Aaroned out of the game.
P
61:56PhilHOST
I mean, the way Aaron went home is still to this day the most idiotic thing ever, and it's the best season of Survivor in my opinion.
P
62:03PhilHOST
So you can be the best season, and if most people tell you, an, if it's not Heroes versus Villains, most people will tell you Pearl Islands is their favorite season.
P
62:12PhilHOST
Pearl Islands has one of the dumbest twists of all time, and yet it can still be your favorite season.

There was an unaired mutiny in, uh, Pearl Islands, which if this, if Thailand was unaired, I would have not have written this question, but it was in the episode.

Survivor 51 Episode 3 “What I’m Smellin’ is Stinky” Recap
E

I mean, I understand that, you know, you can't sort of know that in advance, but I do think part of the job of casting is to make sure people like this don't get on the show, and I agree with you.
E
10:23Evan Ross KatzHOST
We do... often enjoy quits but I tend to if you look at like the historical quits of the show I think that they are more fun when they're consequential like to a larger narrative so I always will go back to I believe his name is Austin on Pearl Islands right and it's like that wishy-washy of like I want to quit, but my tribe needs me and I don't know if I want to quit and will I regret it? I felt like that was really narratively compelling in a way that this to me, it's so early in the game.
E

R
35:04Rob CesterninoHOST
I think there was a mutiny that was, was offered but not taken up on and edited out of the show in Pearl Islands, and ultimately famously in Survivor Cook Islands when Penner, uh, a- and Candice end up mutinying and going to the other tribes.
R
35:21Rob CesterninoHOST
I think that in the modern era that players are much more savvy, much more like, "Hey, I'm on the bottom over here.
R
