Surly Bikes

Yeah.

Or like a Surly.

It's like somehow it's quintessentially.

Those are like things you order out of a catalog, but.

keeping when I go to a factory.

And it's cool to like, I don't know, that's my other thing I've been saying, the factory is the file.

It's like, you know, you can like, yeah, if you're Surly, you can go give them the geometry, give them the parts and say, here, make the frame.

But if you know, you learn how to use the factory to get the stuff you want in the same way that in the shop I'd be using a milling machine to, I don't know, make a thing.

And when I say we, I mean the market kind of introduced bikes for it.

There was a period of time, I think, where Surly had a 650B straggler.

I think Cannondale had a 650B gravel bike.

Cannondale's had a suspension on it, and Cannondale was pushing that.

if you had a big enough tire.

So I think what they were basically marketing was that, Oh, look, we can keep the overall diameter, which I guess I was kind of in favor of Canada's logic at that point, because the, again, I was getting back to the gear inch count of running your road bike group set made sense there in that case.

And then I liked it for pretty much the exact same reasons when Surly came out with a six 50 B straggler, because they still offered like, one in my size.

So I could either have bought the 700C or the 650B.

Have, have always kind of, you know, there used to be, so there u- so to, to bring you back in the way back machine here, we'll say the advent of Surly.

Surly was kind of represented an affordable bike, simple, affordable bike, which was what-

so, so in 2005, working at a shop in, here in Connecticut, or I wasn't working there, I had a, [laughs] employee deals just for being friends with the owner.

I was able to get a Surly Cross Check frame, frame and fork, from QBP at cost.
