Like it's like, it just seems all, everything's the wrong way around.

And yeah, they always do weird time signatures.

I mean, taking this thing very seriously and, and being really attentive and writing very ser- I mean, you sometimes you would fall in love for a band even without even lis- I mean, listening to it.

The first time I heard about Pixies was through, uh, a review of, uh, Surfer Rosa, which it's a record-

... and I remember reading this review of Surfer Rosa and say, "Oh, this band is amazing," uh, just because the way in which the writing was really conveying how important and, and special they were.

And I mean, this was really amazing.

Right, and it's interesting because Vedder has such a history with Pixies.

He even called their album Surfer Rosa one of his favorites.

That makes sense.

I mean, you can hear that Pixie's raw sound influenced a lot of grunge bands, including Pearl Jam.

That's the beauty of hindsight.

It's easy to underestimate the impact a band can have before they blow up.

Exactly and now with Pearl Jam's recent album Dark Matter, they're still taking risks musically.
