Everyone just started, there was raffles and fundraisers and events in theatres to raise funds.

different entertainers uh would come out and to do sports club even people who weren't connected with the club but they were like still kind of doing this fundraising so forth so it brought an awful lot of people together because we came that close to disappearing and you know it in a weird way it kind of built a lot of solidarity within the club and it built a lot of uh kind of fan engagement i think

So the Supporters' Trust at Earlham Steel Recreation and Social Club are having a race night.

And Supporters' Trust, the other bit from the Supporters' Trust this week was they had a stall at Earlham Festival.

And I spoke to Anthony Taylor, as you know, and one of the interesting things that he told me, which really, really blew my mind, was that if you look at the performance characters in terms of how the actual quality of the decisions that referees are making in the Premier League, the referees who learnt before VAR still ranked the highest in terms of accuracy which would suggest that the referees who learned with the AR are not being as diligent with making that one step to see the foul they're maybe dodging big decisions whatever it is whatever it is but there is anecdotal evidence clearly there that referees is making referees a little bit worse

think anecdotally that's that's must be true william i mean for my i mean i i think it undermines them i think it just adds another layer of judgment on them that they don't need um i'd love to see the back of it i i you know i i mean you know it's funny isn't it you know we've got tmos in rugby and it seems to work well they're on all all levels because one of the great i remember i was on the uh Supporters Trust, I think it was the chairman at the time, actually, but we'd have a kind of a quarterly meeting or a monthly meeting organized by the FSA where we met Richard Masters and the like.

And I was there when they were introducing VAR.

So we had a meeting with them about that.

He's the chair of the Nottingham Forest Supporters Trust, and he joins us at a forest have ambitious plans as we know to transform the city ground into a stadium capable of holding more than 50 000 supporters and the trust is currently encouraging fans to write to rushcliffe borough council in support of the planning applications so we'll find out why the campaign matters talk about the future of the city ground and more broadly find out exactly what the supporters trust does for forest fans And because this is The One With, we'll also get to know the man himself and throw in some of our traditional Talking Reds nonsense along the way.

So, you know, it's people that really do want to be involved that, you know, have some influence, not influence, but they're involved in what we do.

It was established, I can't remember the year, but it was established towards the end of the Farrars era.

And trusts, not just the Forest Trust, but there's many other trusts that are invariably established in a time of need, when they think there's something that could really put the club at risk.
