You know, it was a because it also needed to keep the rocket protected when Dragon needed to abort from Falcon.

And that was so it's like it needs to keep astronauts alive and needs to keep the rocket safe from Super Draco's.

It's exposed on ascent and also needs to make enough power to get the astronauts up there safe enough.

So it was a challenging design.

The following month, that same capsule is now go- having an abort system test.

This was an unmanned test tethered to the ground firing the Super Dracos, and something goes terribly wrong and the vehicle is destroyed in an explosion.

Bummer.

There was a leak, uh, in the helium system for the Super Dracos that, uh, created a mass detonation.

Uh, NASA actually considered it lucky.

It was a huge gift.
