Super Tuesday

Every time the party has changed the calendar to solve one problem, there have been, like, massive unintended consequences that actually worked to the detriment of the party.

And so, like, the be- my favorite one is, and you're, you know this, this one has gotta be one of your favorites too, was with the invention of Super Tuesday.

Right.

Which was all invented, all of it was invented to make p- make a bunch of Southern states and oth- other, uh, states, uh, centrist states, uh, so many of them on one day that no way a Northeastern liberal could get the nomination.

The entire reason Super Tuesday was, was put in place was to stop a Northeastern liberal from getting the nomination.

And it worked-

Yeah, well, it, but it did work the second time, and it gave us Mike Dukakis in 1988, but it did give us Bill Clinton in 1992.

Right.
