Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

I did pick up the last Kirby game, and it was not for me.

I felt like the difficulty was the same on Yoshi's Island.

And while I respect Yoshi's Island and all the Yoshi games, I can't stand them because there's no difficulty whatsoever on them.

And I felt the same about Kirby.

So I was like, you know, I can't get in the last one.

And then I think I was just getting confused with some of, like, the architecture as well, where, like, there was this little, like, mound of dirt.

And I was like, is that the fucking Mario world? Like, Yoshi's Island aesthetic with those little stripes? But I think I was just misidentifying that as, like, Kirby.

But then they do the thing where Kirby grows like this green hat and like they're clearly invoking a Zelda vibe from the company that also owns Zelda.

Like if they wanted to do this, they could do it.

What a way to sell a Wario game.

Throwing that Mario name in there reminds me of Super Mario World 2, Yoshi's Island.

It is not very much a Mario game.

It's very much a, it is not Super Mario World 2.

Should have just, but I get it.

Let's put that name in there and sell it.

this graded copy of Yoshi's Island that I got scammed for.

I paid like $1,700 for this thing, and it turns out it was resealed by somebody after the fact.

I thought that it was the original steal.

Like Super Mario World 2?

Super Mario World 2, yes.

And so like The graphics are very...

I feel memorable for the game.

But, um-

And these are the games that would, for the most part, that they would be, it would be cut up and released as slightly enhanced versions for the Game Boy Advance later, and with really confusing names, like Super Mario Advance 3: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

I thought it was a really cool thing at the time to have it, to have it, these NES games with Super Nintendo graphics and all that, you know, 'cause I was like, "Oh, yeah, this is awesome.

They should do that for every NES game."

It very much functioned as it should.

One gripe, though, that I had with the game is that it has a flutter jump mechanic, which I usually love, but maybe I'm also spoiled with Yoshi's Island.

I did not at all like the flutter jump in Klonoa.

I actually hope it feels different in the sequel.
