Super Bowl XXI

Next weekend, the Giants are honoring the 86 team.

It's the 40-year anniversary of Super Bowl XXI.

I have to imagine you're pretty excited about being back at the stadium and spending the weekend with all of your guys.

Well, I'm hopeful I can.

And by the way, just remember, folks, in case you didn't get your tickets for the Cardinals game, which is the following weekend.

That's the 40th anniversary celebration of the Giants' Super Bowl XXI championship victory over the Denver Broncos.

And it is Mark Bovaro bobblehead day.

So you might want to go over there and check it out because that's going to be a lot of fun.

But, you know, the Giants after this week, home games against Tennessee.

And then the following week, they're going to honor the 86 team that won Super Bowl XXI 40 years ago.

It's a 40-year anniversary.

I don't know that he's scheduled because it was Arizona, but it has the feeling of a homecoming game.

I'm glad you brought that up because we probably haven't talked about that game enough.

That'll be the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Giants' first Super Bowl team, the 1986 team, when Phil Simms and company beat the Broncos in Super Bowl XXI.

That's going to be a special day, you know, so I think I applaud you for getting in on that one.

Yes, that's one of the legacy games.

And so when you have a pretty good idea, if a coach likes to go to the same place a lot, then you know what's in their bag for first and 10, for second and medium, for third and short versus third and long.

And if you have a lot of those that you're aware of, Like in goal line, for example, you can key off of, and I used, I used the example best for a giant fans in that 1986 Superbowl 21 against Denver Broncos.

The giants knew exactly what three plays the Broncos were going to go to in a goal line situation.

And those are the exact three plays Denver ran.

You all know this is an exciting time for the Giants.

Just the other day, they also put up a single game promo for the Cardinals game, which is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Super Bowl XXI team moves.

Yeah.

So there are plenty of opportunities.

I don't need to get into the whole thing now with Ray Rice.

And then I'm working on a documentary that I hope is going to come out prior to the 40-year anniversary of the actual Super Bowl XXI game, the Giants' first Super Bowl championship.

Giants are going to be honoring that team the first Sunday in October against the Cardinals.

And I've been working on a documentary the entire offseason about that team and what they meant to each other and the things that they've been through since.

You threw the ball 18 to 20 times a game.

I mean, Phil Simms, it felt like you threw the ball a lot in Super Bowl XXI.
