Joseph ChalomGUEST
16:49
In 12 months from now, I think there are going to be crypto native or technology native companies, the likes of Robinhood, Coinbase, Circle, Meta, and others who are going to build super apps, Paul, that have access to every element of your financial life.
Joseph ChalomGUEST
17:08
They'll know your deposits.
Joseph ChalomGUEST

They'll let you earn.

Joseph ChalomGUEST
17:48
So these super apps, which have access to your financial life and preference, I think are going to challenge the large financial institutions who think of every element of this as different apps and businesses.

Um, and don't be scared to make very, very, very quick changes.
Gary FowlerHOST
23:45
You know, we're, we're a little bit over on the show, Jasim, but I just wanna say it's been a fascinating conversation because what you're building sits at the intersection of several enormous changes that I see happening simultaneously.
Gary FowlerHOST
23:58
On one side we got super apps, gaming, AI, digital commerce, global connectivity, and m- most importantly, the competition for human attention, right? And I call it infobesity.
Gary FowlerHOST
24:10
There's so much data out there that, that it's distracting.
Martin MasserGUEST
1:16
because they just see like so many efficiencies that are there now.
Scott MelkerHOST

We get into banks adopting blockchain rails, stablecoins, self-custody, privacy super apps, and why things like gas fees, bridging, and even knowing what chain you're using should eventually disappear completely.

Scott MelkerHOST

17 MINS LATER

Scott MelkerHOST

I know that ChangeNow also has a similar vision of super app.
Scott MelkerHOST
18:33
I mean, what does that like term mean to you, super app?
Martin MasserGUEST
18:36
it's it's do you know what i do now you know i've got one of the banks that you already mentioned and i do multiple things on that banking app i don't have to move to different things you know you can get my insurance or my e-sim it's just that you know like why do i do it because i don't want to be opening up accounts or moving stuff from place to place you'll find reason you're having these super apps is it just makes life easier faster cheaper quicker you don't want to be moving around so yeah the idea is and this is what you know again the great feedback is we take a lot that on it's just that one place and it just removes this fragmentation of moving one place for swaps one place for maybe custody one place for this one place for that and you're just everywhere if you just have it in one place just makes it so much easier people prefer that you know like even going back to streaming i loved it in the old days with the streaming it's all in one place now streaming i've got like eight different streaming surfaces to see it it's just you don't want to make it more fragmented you want to have it all together
Scott MelkerHOST
19:38
Okay.
CeterisGUEST
26:49
that
AprioriHOST
26:50
we'll start to see this consolidation into these super apps, which basically are offering everything? I mean, like we're, we're kind of seeing that already log on Coinbase today.
AprioriHOST
26:58
You have a super app.
AprioriHOST
26:59
If you log on Robinhood app, same kind of thing, but they're all, they're good at what they're really good at, but the extra stuff they're not so good at offering yet.
Chuan Hoe TeoHOST
50:27
The supply is only the people that are on the QQ platform.
Chuan Hoe TeoHOST
50:32
At the same time, I think what matters more in this is, okay, can we develop applications or can we develop tools that are on this platform that, and we'll see that more with, I think, the Super App and WeChat later, but can we develop tools that other people and developers can use that sit on top of this platform? At the end of the day, what happens when you have that? You imagine a mini app that is in WeChat.
Chuan Hoe TeoHOST
51:02
The end user relationship still sits with the mini app.
Chuan Hoe TeoHOST
51:06
So if I'm Starbucks on WeChat, technically, the person walked into a Starbucks store and scanned the QR code and that's how he reached to your app.
