Sunset Boulevard

Vaguely.

Yeah, there was, I don't know if it's a true interview, but I don't suspect that it was, but, like, it's just one of those rumors that's gone around for years about, like, Patty after the Sunset Boulevard thing happened where Glenn replaced her on Broadway, like, called Glenn, like, a George Washington.

Yeah.

just based on her chin or jaw or something.

I just, I think Jamie Lloyd is not going to want to do anything that feels like a plan B. or like a diminished version of it.

And when they were bringing over Sunset Boulevard, they wanted to try and get him into Times Square.

They were like, can we put him on a scooter? And they really tried all of these very ambitious things before figuring out a way to cross the street, which at the time everyone was saying like, they're never going to be able to cross the street.

They can't do this in New York, the weather, the people.

I think it's not just going to be her standing on stage singing the song.

But in a way, they'll evade criticism, too, if they do that, because a lot of people said, you know, why am I paying this much to look at a cinema screen of her singing this song outside?

Is there any truth to the rumor that they are currently filming a Sunset Boulevard film with Nicole Scherzinger?

I have no reason to believe.

Go look it up.

Famous things like Sunset Boulevard, Cats, Hananon.

What ones am I forgetting here? Pippin, all sorts of other things here.

History of Edward Drood.

It was like a school, but yeah.

it certainly wasn't the be-all end-all but i enjoy yeah i'm grateful that i had that opportunity all right so

let's move ahead let's jump up to today here because through the years obviously just go look up the thing you you were literally nominated you became nominated you were inducted into the american theater hall of fame that tells a lot right there all the awards that you won Of all the Broadway shows that you've done, the one, I don't know, Sunset Boulevard and Cats, again, or Pippin, totally different kinds of roles here.

Is that- Nice,

Like that street outside the London Palladium, which always reminds me of Nicole Schertzinger coming out after every performance of, was it Cats that she was in?

No, it was Sunset Boulevard.

Sunset Boulevard.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I know this is your first big movie role.

You were in Sunset Boulevard on Broadway, which was amazing, which was beyond.

So, yeah, for you, is this a different kind of bonding?

Yeah, you know, we were in Australia for five months and Australia is so far away from anything else in the world.

you know? Scherzinger stands out, but

wouldn't you say that she's sort of like an alternate universe Rita Ora? She felt like a Rita Ora to me for a long time, and then with Sunset Boulevard made her a them on Broadway.

It

made her a them

song.

And we became friends when we did Sunset Boulevard together on

Broadway.

And she basically said, play the room you're in.

And then like Phantom had the prosthetics and the chandelier, which was kind of the trick in that show.

Sunset Boulevard had that giant house that would lift up.

I don't know if you ever saw it on Broadway or on tour because they toured it as well.

But the mansion would lift up.

And you can

talk about all of those technical and visual things about those shows.

What do you remember about the story of Sunset Boulevard? But that's it, right? Which is interesting because Sunset Boulevard was a movie and like a phenomenal movie.

Yes.

But I got into the business saying I can make money here, and everybody thought that was outlandish.
