Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award

I must be honest, this was not something that I'd heard of.

Had you before we got it? So we were very kindly invited to the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award, which is a prize you've been to before, but I couldn't make the one previously.

Each of the writers spoke about their books, as did the judging panel.

And as soon as this one was talked about, I thought, oh my goodness, that's a bit of me.

Her first book, Inferno, was a remarkable memoir about motherhood, postpartum psychosis and recovery.

She was a finalist for the 2020 Sunday Times Young Writer Award and shortlisted for the Jallak Prize.

Her new book, The Devoted, is her first novel, set in Hong Kong's criminal underworld, where family, power and revenge shape every decision.

Catherine Cho, welcome to Meet the Writers.
