Sumner County

It moves from county to county.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Beach, I mean not Beach, but Sumner County has not allowed in-network transfers to happen as freely as some.

But privates have always kind of had this free reign as far as being able to pluck public school kids.

And now the plucking is getting bigger.

Yeah.

It is wild, because as we were coming here today, we were both kind of laughing, because if you had told either of us, uh, you know, growing up in Nashville, I grew up in Nashville, he grew up in Sumner County-

Yeah.

... and they, you know, just happened to drive by.

But it was, it was so much fun to watch that video and watch that reel, and just think about what y'all are doing, and, uh, I didn't realize you were from Sumner County, so that's, that's even better, and something inside of me ... really loves the idea that you all have a farm in Sumner County where William Lamberth lives.

Two other women, neither of which we know the names, were convicted and executed for allegedly killing white women.

Those happened in Jefferson County in 1808 and Sumner County in 1819.

The following year, a Hawkins County court convicted a white woman named Eve Martin of being an accessory to murder.

This is often reported as the last execution of a Tennessee woman.

But we never would have agreed to serve them if it had compromised our customers in any way.

And the mayor also says that they're this big revenue contributor for the city and for Sumner County.

And you talked about how we don't know a lot about the revenue that comes from them.

But do we know anything? anything about the revenue that comes from them with their tax breaks that they've received?

And the IDB, the Industrial Development Board, has discretion on how the money is directed.

The IDB was really slow to release any records as far as how much of the pilot payments have gone to the city and county and where they've gone.

But from the records that I got, it looks like a lot of the payments have gone to Sumner County schools.

But that's one of the criticisms.

Some local lawmakers say the policy raises legal concerns.

The Sumner County branch of the NAACP is now investigating the school's dress code policies.

Renovations to Tennessee State Capitol are nearing completion.

The state is hoping to finish in time for the inauguration of our next governor in January, and before lawmakers return to Nashville the same month.
