It was smaller and we didn't have the same full-time staff.

So I think there needs to be different carve-outs when we consider the types of communities and what could be true for Charlottetown and Summerside in terms of an official plan might not work as well in Three Rivers.

But I think there needs to be some legislation at the provincial level to make sure that what we put in the council just doesn't come in and change.

So just for reference, the MGA, the Municipal Governance Act, is something that Wade McLaughlin's government put in probably a decade ago, well, 10 years ago.

They have done a jurisdictional scan.

They've looked at Charlottetown.

They've looked at Summerside, Stratford, Cornwall, Surrey.

um they've looked at what those have done and they've presented to council what they think and it does it does limit it means you cannot come to a council meeting and just say whatever you want it it is suggesting that we that you you tell us ahead of time what it is that it must be something that's on the agenda in an organized way and and i am in favor of that and i think that will help with with some of the things that have happened.

I want to just end up with some examples of other municipally owned utilities, Evanston, Perth, Hanover, you know, Summerside, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg.

You know, there's a bunch of them that are, you know, doing similar things and delivering, I think, real value, even though their scale is small, delivering real value to their community.

So I think it's a very interesting side story on electricity in our region.

So in addition to ourselves, Edmonston has its own municipally owned utility.

Perth-Andover would be the other one.

In Prince Edward Island, Summerside has its own municipally-owned utility.

And then in Nova Scotia, there's actually five.

So the biggest ones, and there's many across the province, the largest ones would be Three Rivers.

Charlottetown, Stratford, Summerside, and other smaller communities.

Also in the weekend, Dan Kuchar began reshaping the Liberal Party.

So former Summerside Mayor Dan Kuchar is now the sole approved candidate to run for the—actually, he's now the leader of the PEI Liberal Party— He held a campaign-style event in Summerside on Sunday, reportedly drawing roughly 200 people, and has announced plans for a district-by-district conversation before the party's October 25th convention.

Kutcher identified five broad areas he was emphasizing, government performance, frontline health care, the economy, energy security, communities and culture, and PEI's place within Canada.

And I was there just taking up a spot because there's really no place for me to go from there.

But then it was up into the Maritime League, up into Summerside.

And following that season, I went and played a couple games in Jackson in the East Coast Hockey League, the Jackson Bandits.

And then that spring or that fall, I was off to Charleston, South Carolina to go to stingrays camp.

Uh, I think we've got somebody lined up from Montague.

We'd like people from Summerside, Charlottetown.

Any community and every community across the island does have their municipal elections.

It's usually on the first Monday of the, um- Of November, and I do have the date here, it's November second.

I'm not sure if PEI got on the dock at anything on solar or battery technology.

Uh, both probably controversial conversations with some sectors.

Certainly in, um, Summerside, that might be a controversial sense of investment.

And one of the things that's fascinating, the-- this is re- regarding the, the battery challenge and the battery burning that's happening right now in the, um, the, the solar farm just outside of Summerside, which is a great investment and it's really helped with the redundancy of electricity for Summerside.
