Rabbi Shimon says, "Only if," okay, this is like in Sukkah, you need rosh u'ruvo in the Sukkah.

The Mishnah in Sukkah, Chapter 5, Mishnah 5.

One sounds no fewer than 21 trumpet blasts in the temple, and one sounds no more than 48.

They can't be unconscious of that fact.

Um, so these are just some of the beginning of the laws of what make a kosher Sukkah.

And again, we're moving very quickly here.

I just want to give you the basic outline of sort of the real laws that are, are sort of foundational to everybody's Sukkah.

So it's so important that holidays, that rejoicing, that even though our rejoicing and kind of definition of simcha and joy within halakhic literature and within Judaism often has to do with eating and eating good food, it's not all just about filling one's belly, right? That this should be a dedication to God.

It shouldn't just be a sort of hedonistic ritual, but rather it should be dedicated to Hashem, dedicated to God.

The whole shaking and waving we do, obviously is stated in Gemara, so we know it's meant to be done, but the ikr mitzvah is simply picking up the lulav, automatically a person's yotzei.

Nonetheless, the reason why we're saying that he did it birishos is because there's still an Indian, we find in Gemara and Sukkah and Taisos and other places, that there's an Indian, maybe even could be considered a continuation of the mitzvah, just to simply walk around with he will even hold it wherever a person goes.

Therefore, to some extent, it's considered to be done birshas.

And so even when he walks out into the Rosh Hashanah with it, he's potter for that.

Back like the way we were before.

What will happen when Mashiach comes, the Gemara in Sukkah An-Nun-Bez tells us, God is going to blow the shofar, and again, the Yetzer Hara is going to leave us, and this time God is going to slaughter the Yetzer Hara.

You guys ever hear that when the Satan hears the shofar being blown on Rosh Hashanah, what happens to him? He gets very afraid.

This is the reason why.

If you seize a small amount, you've surely seized it, okay? And what this means is this idea of tafasta, marubah, low tafasta, tafasta, mu'ad, tafasta, and it's brought in actually in Sukkah, is that when we have a biblical measurement that has to be determined and more than one amount is possible, we always choose the smallest amount, okay? So we have to assume that when the Torah talks about a useful gift, it's the small amount of wool for the sash rather than the larger amount of wool that we need for the robe.

Okay, so if we want to say that it's the smallest measure, maybe we should say that it's the woolen bonnet, right? This that was worn by the Kohen Gadol.

A woolen bonnet rested on the head of the coin gadol.

If you're gonna say it's from that Pasuk, Halapachi Hava Milel Elok Mirishit Hagez, but otherwise, you would have learnt it like we said a minute ago, you would have learnt it from Rishit Hagez, from the shearings.

Ad Rabah, you would say the opposite, and this is gonna be completely parallel to what we did in Sukkah, where we tried to say Arisotichem, I'm sorry, by Chalah.

Surah Sukkah came into my head.

Arisotichem, where we tried to say, "Oh, it's from the plural form," but then they said, "What do you mean? Why would you have learnt Reishit Reishit from the Gez? You should have learnt it from Terumah." Likewise here, Ad Rabah Nialuf MiTerumah, because by Terumah, remember the Pasuk, it starts off, "Rishit DeGan Chati Rosh Chavi Yitzarecha." Right? That's the Terumah.

And then it says, "Rishit Hagez Gez Tzonecha." And then it says, "Titen Lo," give to him, to the Kohen, which includes giving both the giving, the word Titen, which is the word that we're Darshaning, is both on the Terumah and on the shearings.

In fact, the other meaning of the word dirisha is also to demand.

The Gemara in Rosh Hashanah, it's also brought in Sukkah, where it talks about the various things that we do to remember the Bais HaMikdash.

So it says, So the Gemara says that the Bais HaMikdash needs Drisha, which means... that the idea of remembering the Bais HaMikdash is to motivate us that we should request the Bais HaMikdash, demand the Bais HaMikdash.

In other words, implying that it's not good enough just to ask nicely that David should send us the Geula.

This Gemara is a pacha.
