Askew was a student officer at the time of the offending and gave a no-comment interview when questioned by police.

The former officer resigned from Suffolk Constabulary in April before disciplinary proceedings concluded, meaning he could not formally be dismissed.

However, the hearing determined he would have been dismissed without notice had he remained in post.
