I said, going into from last week, I guarantee you this movie's gonna be better than Subspecies.

And guess what? I was right.

I, I, I made note, remember, last time in Subspe- Subspecies-

All the Phantasms.

He was in John Dies in the End, Munchie, and Subspecies, but he was in a crap ton of stuff.

Yeah.

He'd been acting for a long time.

We're gonna get to vampire, like, ethic codes.

So regardless of the vampire movie you're watching, it's vampires can't come in your house unless invited.

Now, this movie, we're not sure if that actually holds up, but it was noted vampires cannot go into, like, a holy ground, overall this church, that they're kind of, like, one of three settings in this movie.

Um, so my, my problem that I've always said with that is, and you've seen this in movies, like, more recently, like Sinners and stuff like that, then the vampires just wait outside.

Yeah, I don't, I just don't, I don't get it.

I don't get how five additional movies in a spinoff something...

I don't, I don't get it because this is the worst vampire movie that you...

Like, I've seen, like, vampire movies where, like, strippers in a strip club turn into vampires and, like, terrorize people.

Dennis also did the score for the movie Witch Trap as well.

You know, and on a side note, set decorator Sally Nicolau was married to Texas Chainsaw Massacre sound recorder Ted Nicolau, who went on to direct Terror Vision, Bad Channels, and the Subspecies films.

And this is why it's worth the time to watch film credits, folks.

This is a big month for us, with a ton of awesome content for you ghoulies.

Before we get into the meat of the episode here, though, I think we're all big fans of vampires at Scream Signal, but how do you guys prefer your vampires? Do you like monstrous things like Radu and Subspecies or Barlow and Salem's Lot? Or do you like vampires that are more seductive, alluring creatures like Anne Rice or Twilight or something along those lines? Jeremy, what are your thoughts? What's your vibe on that?

So while I enjoy plenty of movies where we see like monstrous vampires, you know, like I think about the ending of Fright Night.

It really turns like monstrous.

We're big fans here.

But the one that you should watch.

especially after you watch this episode, or after you watch this episode, if you haven't seen the movie before, is Subspecies.

So that's the movie we're going to talk about tonight.

I actually, I'll say it, I long for a Subspecies movie.

They're just so weird and, like, goofy.

But you know what, I'm just gonna go ahead and announce it.

So the plan is next week we're supposed to sit down with Ted Nicolau of Full Moon and other fame, the famed director of the Subspecies series.

He also did Bad Channels.

He did Terror Vision.

The coolest thing I'll say about this is we chatted about...

So he directed Subspecies in 1990.

And it was like within months after...

They shot in Romania and it was within months of a revolution happening.
