And to help me dig into this topic, I'm delighted to be joined by my colleague, Stuart Adam, who is our in-house and highly prized expert in all things tax design, and by Ben Zaranco, who is economics editor at The Observer, that has, as regular citizens will know, was until recently our colleague here at the IFS and has come back for another of our How to Fix Taxes special.

Let's start with what a land value tax is.

We'll look at what the actual problems with the tax are and how to tackle those, and we'll kick the tires on the argument that high streets are socially important and therefore need government support.

To do that, I'm delighted to be joined by Stuart Adam, who is our in-house expert on all things tax, uh, and benefit design, and by Ben Zarranko, who is now the e-commerce editor of The Observer, but as regular listeners will know, was until very recently our colleague here at the IFS, and who joined us for the original How to Fix Taxes series and has agreed to come back to make sure that Stuart and I don't get too excited and stuck in the weeds.
