I actually don't think they are necessarily an inner urban party, but that's the way they've been cast and that's where the vote has tended to be.

But I've been doing some research with some colleagues at La Trobe and Monash that is actually showing that they have the capacity to move outside of the inner urban area.

And certainly some votes have started to appear.

It's as if the inner urban seats of, say, Melbourne or Grayndler, Brisbane and Griffith are if you like, they've peaked there in one sense, but it's around that that we're starting to see a new resurgence, if you like, of green voting, but not on traditional green issues such as climate change or the environment.

What we're seeing is an economic focus or more of an economic focus, more of a focus on those other issues.
