Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike

I think I mixed it up

with Street Fighter Third Strike.

That's right,

y'all.

I love playing CBS too.

I love playing third strike.

I think we should have old games.

They're great, but this much work.

I don't even remember him saying the game was great because he was a big criticizer of it, just like most of us were who were competing in it.

So, yes, I love that UMBC3 got rollback.

I think it's for a certain subsect of the community, just like how CBS2 got it, just like how Third Strike got it on Fightcade and other stuff.

A little bit different, but at least they got something, right? I don't think we need to do this anymore.

Who is the greatest Street Fighter 3 third strike character of all time? I love that roster.

Like you have like just like normal people who like I know karate and then you've got like just the weirdest freaks in that game, man.

I didn't really play...

I didn't play Third Strike much until I was, like, 23, actually.

Yeah, I only read about it in magazines.

If anything, you know, it's easier for a larger group of people to do those moves.

But when you go back and, say, play Third Strike, or, uh, y- I don't know, ST or, you know, like, like something like f- which is, which is what I did with this controller, you're like, "Oh, God, I can't even fucking...

Like nothing is coming out." Because it demands a level of precision that, uh, modern, that a lot of modern fighting games have, uh, evolved past or, or they've, they've chosen slop and accepted the downsides o- on, on that sort of stuff, I guess.

Um, so yeah, I don't know.

well well there was there was this one episode where he talks about the dreamcast and he's like i can't remember what he's saying but he's talking about it and you could just hear like the background as he's trying to speak and like obviously he like upped the noise but like that is sometimes what it feels like like booting up the dreamcast it's it's a very loud console and uh yeah you know what it is for me this it sounds really really like pathetic but i honestly think that the reason i i yes um subconsciously that i got this mod was just for the sake of my poor wife who you know she's you know sat in our living room and i'm just there with the dreamcast on it's making this fucking racket

Anyway, Singo, he ran the Third Strike and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo tournaments and obviously smashed it, right? It was the highlight of the entire weekend.

We went for Guilty Gear.

We stayed for the Street Fighter.

So he says the crowdfunding amount is in addition to what is in the pot from game entry.

Crowdfunding is provided solely by the community and distributed to the top eight players in full.

So this year's third strike was £10 per player, and there were 101 entrants.

So that's £1,010 prize pool to be split 60-30-10 between first, second and third.

If they really love the game, do it.

Because that's how Third Strike survived as long as it did.

Because Capcom wanted to get rid of that very quickly after it was a sales failure.

Right.

But I guess that makes sense compared to a human or even a cyborg.

Though Lynn Kurosawa, Capcom's original character, has a lot of fans and she has appeared as cameos in other Capcom games, like being in the background of Street Fighter 3.

And she's also a very highly requested guest character for Street Fighter, which, yeah, I think they should put her in here or put her in Street Fighter if Capcom owns her wholly.

And yeah, sadly, AVP has not really gotten a big re-release.
