your honor he is a street fighter character his first name is charlie he's charlie nash who's in the street fighter alpha games who's the same guy uh he's guile's friend who gets murdered charlie charlie Wait, he becomes Blanca? Yeah, well, in the movie, he becomes Blanca.

In the video game-iverse, I was doing a lot of Street Fighter lookup.

That's what I'm saying, because,

My entire understanding of everything.

by the way, between what you were just talking about a second ago when you brought up Street Fighter Alpha and then all the stuff that you were espousing on the AD.

And whether it was like playing games that I would, you know, get from the rental store at home or going to that arcade, they always had that like, you know, that classic like Capcom thing.

And it was, I started to realize all these games that I grew up like playing and loving, whether it was like, you know, platformers on Super NES or fighting games or going to the arcade, it was like everything from Darkstalkers to Street Fighter Alpha.

Like they were always in these arcades.

But, you know, I remember really growing up and just being blown away when there was X-Men, Total the Atom and Marvel superheroes in the arcades.

I digress.

Yeah, Mike would come back there, and somewhat surprisingly, a little bit of Joe's moveset showed up with Cody in Street Fighter Alpha 3.

Yeah, I heard that that was actually arguably supposed to be Joe before he went with Cody, but that might be apocryphal.

I don't know.

He wants things to be even.

Since a character we haven't mentioned yet, but when you go to China, one of the characters that you fight there is Genn.

who then later shows up in Street Fighter Alpha, who Akuma historically fights, but then stops fighting once he realizes that Gen is terminally ill.

And he's like, oh, you're not able to fight at your full potential.

Alundra or Suikoden that we talked about on the podcast your Breath of Fire 3 has a bit of that, like we were talking Mick about how there was all these different wee unique sprite animations for stuff in Suikoden and I noticed that Breath of Fire 3 has plenty of them as well, the wee guys were quite expressive I

think the art style in this is really good, I think there's some really good sprite work you can kind of see a bit of a lineage with Capcom with some of the stuff like maybe Street Fighter Alpha or Third Strike or Marvel vs. Capcom, shit like that.

There's a kind of comic book-y sort of painterly sort of look to it.

fan of Western comics on the Capcom development team to make X-Men a thing in Japan, which was starting to happen because obviously Japan has a huge manga culture that is influenced by Western comics and that in turn influences Western comics.

It's been a cultural exchange, much like Disney influences anime, which influences Western animation.

I mean, Fist, why am I keep saying fish? Am I hungry for fish, damn it? Not since Street Fighter Assassin's Fist have we had anything that remotely looked like a live action adaptation of the video game.

Now, it could be said that like Assassin's Fist is based around Street Fighter Alpha, which does predates the events here.

So, I mean, depending on how they do this movie, you almost can possibly connect the two if you could, even though they have different actors or whatnot.

The storytelling may be able to connect properly on this.

So they added that.

And these are high powered actions.

can give you the advantage in offense and defense confrontations it's really cool really cool uh cinematic uh exchange right there you know if the two act max actions collide the players who uh activate their last win uh i'm sorry the one that does it last wins the exchange so that creates uh something that more is resemble a fighting game but that's what i said about rising new hero in the first place is that it was soccer but it felt like street fighter that was and this one's kind of just think of this i can relate this this is um If the first game Verizon New Heroes was like Street Fighter, this game's kind of like Street Fighter Alpha or even Street Fighter Super Street Fighter Turbo because they added a new element like the the the the energy gauges that allow you to do supers.
