Stranger Than Heaven

Yeah.

Which will be interesting next year, too, with Stranger Than Heaven, whether that's a good jumping-on point for you to experience an RGG game, like you've played The Man Who Erased His Name, which is a good bite-sized experience.

Also ended up on our Game of the Year list for that, yeah.

I played three hours of Stranger Than Heaven.

So I am actually really getting on board with the combat.

The summer game first build, so Stranger Than Heaven, for those who don't know, it is the new game from RGG Studios who make the Like a Dragon Yakuza games.

And so whereas those games are typically brawlers and then they moved into turn-based for Like a Dragon, this... is an action game where each half of the body of the character is controlled on a different side of the controller so right bumper and right trigger control uh you know light punching and what and kicking whatever on the right side and similarly on the left side two uh lb and rb together is like a That's the grab.

So yeah, shout out to Sega and shout out to RGG.

I got a chance to attend Extended Stranger Than Heaven.

Three hours they left me in a room.

with that game.

But we've got a fun one today because I was teasing that I had hands on with something recently.

That game is Stranger Than Heaven, which we have spoken about briefly in the past.

Yes, it's the game that has Tupac in it.

A little bit, a little bit of speaking.

There's so many fucking games coming out in February.

Yeah.

And then in January, of course, we have Stranger Than Heaven, which is the new RGG Studios game, the studio behind the Yakuza franchise.

And I got to play three hours of it recently.

So those, that is a really good question, by the way.

So those, yes, there are time period selected, but also one of the influence of choosing those weaponry is this whole game in general, we had a concept of going back to the roots of so-called the Ninkyo genre, which is a Japanese term for like a yakuza themed entertainment like movies or like books um and so we took a lot of inspiration from those ninkyo uh genre um and they were like particularly hot back in like 70s and 80s in japan especially with the with the cinema scenes so we watched a lot of movies and we noticed how raw the combat is like and like they use a lot of like daily stuff to fight and like no one's a monster at anything like they just use it and then try to kill it but they're not exactly like a good fighter with it and we thought that concept of like the battle in Ninkyo movie could be something that we could depict in Stranger Than Heaven.

And so that's why we selected like not exactly a weapon weapon.

I mean, we do have a sword, but it's back in the days, especially in Japan, there will be a sword in Japan, in like the household and stuff.

But I did find time to play some stuff.

So in the media hour, I rushed in to play Stranger Than Heaven, which is the new game from RGG Studio, who does Like a Dragon.

So Stranger Than Heaven, Shitter Than Yakuza.
