Straighten Out This Bender

Uh, a little more serious now.

I wanna touch on, I was curious about your relationship to alcohol 'cause it seems like you're examining it in When It Rains and Straighten Out This Bender.

You talk about drinking, drowning sorrows when things get heavy.

Can you just take me through the examination and choosing to write about it? I know you just mentioned having tequila and having fun, but was it a conscious effort to, like, examine that relationship and write it for this album?

And so kinda naturally I had the idea for When It Rains, I Pour.

Surprised I hadn't heard that before in a country song.

Similar with, like, Straighten Out This Bender.

Kind of sings as this, you know, "Straighten out this bender, but it ain't gonna be tonight," the little play on words there.
