Stormwater

Today, City of Havre Public Works Director Trevor Mork discusses the USDA Rural Impact Forum and how initiatives like Special Improvement District 434 are reflective of the knowledge gained there.

So SID 434 is a homegrown program that you had a couple residents in that neighborhood that they wanted to see those improvements at their front door and they understood that it's going to come on to their property assessments in the future, but it'll hopefully result in Stormwater systems being expanded.

Also, street improvements.

And I know it's something that everyone's going to want to hear is how to get rid of these potholes.

We're now having a lot of flooding across Umbila Road, Sydney Road and lower end of Umbila.

I am now in communications with Stormwater, DSW and the various authorities and city management to try and resolve this as soon as possible.

On the international front, a man has been killed in a shark attack off a popular beach near Perth in Western Australia.

Police say the man was swimming about 50 metres offshore at Sorrento Beach when he was attacked.

Um, and tonight we have the, um, distinct pleasure and honor of, uh, recognizing Annette Yoshimi, who, um, as most people probably don't realize, um, has been a pillar of the community, uh, for a number of years.

She is an original founding member of the Stormwater, um, Board, um, and most recently she has served three years on the Zoning Board of Appeals.

And, um, I'm sure council r-recognizes that many times that she's our only audience.

[laughing] And, and certainly for that alone, she would be deserving of, you know, uh, certainly an award.
