Stone Cold Crazy

But I got us some front row seats tomorrow night, so me and Manda Sweetpanner are gonna go see that as an anniversary present for our one-year anniversary that happened yesterday.

And, uh, in honor of Queen and the band that we're gonna see tomorrow night, and to satisfy our list of mandatory Metallica this week, here's a cover of Stone Cold Crazy by Queen done by Metallica.

[rock music] Sleeping very soundly on a Saturday morning.

I was dreaming I was Al Capone.

Gotta get away with the stone cold blow.

Crazy.

Stone cold crazy, yo.

[rock music] Pretty afternoon on a killer dead moon and she's playing all my slash and burn.

Yeah, right.

Uh, but we played, you know, Stone Cold Crazy, you know, a lot of sticks, a lot of progressive stuff.

Um, some Cars, you know, just, like, bar rock.

But, but we mixed in a lot of stuff 'cause everybody, our bass player Eddie and Kozeian, we were all Tony Williams fans.

Anything?

I was picking, you know, mo- less common songs, but I would still love to hear We Will Rock You, Stone Cold Crazy, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Radio Ga Ga.

Yeah.

Like, those live-

I suppose ma- various reasons, but I, I think the way it seg from you ...

You've had Stone Cold Crazy to this, which is like a lullaby, like, "Go to sleep.

Doo doo." So you've had, like, Stone Cold Crazy, thrash metal, and then you've got this, and ...

But I just ...

That, that's the great thing with Queen, just how they ...

Yeah, I, I obviously would've first heard it when you bought the Sheer Heart Attack album.

Yeah, it's, it's a lovely piano-led song, but I had to go mid-tier because it's just over a minute long, and it's actually easy to forget it's on the album because of that.

And although, yeah, it could be viewed as a bit of a palate cleanser after the, the, the thrash of Stone Cold Crazy and before the pop jauntiness of Misfire, it's the band at their most delicate.

Um, but yeah.

Well, Metallica covered, what they, they did, um- Stone- That's on- Stone Cold Crazy ...

Sheer Heart.

That's on Sheer Heart Attack.

That's not on those first two.

So if Metallica's covering it, back before they were doing Seeger covers- [laughs] Right? Now, you know, they didn't- Yeah ...

you know, they didn't, I don't think they would've pulled off Turn the Page early in their career when they did Stone Cold Crazy.

Definitely not, no.

Yeah.

When I noticed on the podcast that he's swinging the beat on Stone Cold Crazy, that blew my mind.

I couldn't, I just couldn't believe that.

I mean, he's only doing it with velocity on the hat, but even so at that speed to be able to put swing into a thrash metal song, what are you kidding me? That's Ed Van Halen level of what? What are you talking about? Yeah,
