Stittsville

I'm Councillor Glenn and this is my weekly update for Saturday, September 19th.

This morning, I'm at JoJo's Community Garden on Stittsville Main Street.

It is tucked in just behind JoJo's Pizza and a really special place.

If you've never visited here before, might be something you want to come and check out.

You are allowed, even if you're not a member of the community garden, you can come in and have a look and they host lots of events here.

In fact, A couple weeks ago, I was at the Stittsville-Goulburn Horticultural Society plant sale that they did under the veranda here.

On Thursday nights over the summer, they did some music nights and so on.

And it's a community garden, so it's all run by volunteers.

So I am at our Carling location.

We also have an amazing team at our Stittsville location.

We also have an amazing team at our current location.

So not just pelvic floor physio, but naturopathic medicine and osteopathy and massage therapy, acupuncture and social work.

Women also, you know.

You know, it's interesting you're from Stittsville.

I have here a short clip from the former Mayor Jim Watson of Ottawa.

So finally, um, I'm out in the Mug Mobile.

I need some help with, uh, how I should handle this.

So, in Stittsville, it is really hard to make a left-hand turn by the Honey Coffee Bar.

If anybody's in Stittsville, they know it's just impossible.

This is the Jewish New Year, so there will be a lot of people celebrating in our community.

Today is the Stittsville Butter Tart Festival.

Everybody's talking about the Butter Tart Festival.

It starts at 10 a.m. and it's a new location this year over at Sacred Heart High School.

And there's a grand opening today I'm going to check out.

I have a new place called Trick and Fly.

It's kind of a gymnastics acrobat studio on Stittsville Main Street as well.

So they're new to the community.

That's a long day.

Stitsville to Greeley.

That's a long day.

Plus the course, yeah.

I don't know.

Stittsville? I have no idea, but the Holy Spirit knows.

God, what do you wanna do? We wanna open our hearts and begin to ask, "God, do you wanna do this?" To steward well.

We want to increase our discipleship, leadership, and sending capacity through Life Center College.

Did you catch that? He said, Wally just said, I don't pop my head into garages.

You live in Stittsville,

We know you do.

So we've sort of covered that broad spectrum of endurance sports base and tried to build and like sort of build more community and fill community needs around that if that makes sense so um going to yeah race weekend that's an obvious fill um because we have a lot of people that are signing up not only for the marathon but for the half for the five to ten the two uh or some of the challenges so that's that's pretty cool

And when did it start growing into, because it had its main store and now you're in Orleans, you're in Westboro, you're in Stittsville.

So when did that expansion begin as best you can tell?

Well, having been there since the onset, we started with a small portion of what is now the Westboro store and gradually expanded to fill the whole space there.

And then we opened up a second location in Stittsville to meet the needs of that growing community coming out of Stittsville.

That was, geez, almost 10 years ago.

And then we've opened a new store to meet the needs of the sort of East End Ottawa folks in Orleans three years ago now.
