I was not even the pride and joy of Stevenson High School, but that's where I went

to school.

The split was finalized the following year, about 16 months before Kelly graduated high school, and according to her father, it left a mark on her adolescence that never fully faded.

Kelly attended Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois, where she played tennis, wrote for the school newspaper, and worked on the yearbook committee.

She was, by every account, a social and warm-hearted kid.

But after graduation, she drifted for a few years, unsure of what she wanted out of adulthood, sometime around 2007 or 2008.

I hear from people all the time.

I was at my son's, not my son's, my grandson's football game, his first football game at Stevenson High School, the big stadium there.
