Toby, before the break, we heard a lot of praise of the character of Alden, who was played by Steve Way.

But you found this character a little tiresome, did you not?

Well, I liked it at first.

Today's guest is actor, comedian, and disability advocate, Steve Way, whose work you may know from the hit series, Ramy.

who is currently stealing scenes as Alden in Hulu's hit thriller, Furious.

Steve has built a career out of being very funny, very candid, and completely uninterested in anyone's assumptions about what disability should look like.

I know you a little bit at this point and, you know, watching, I definitely see some elements of Steve Way in the character.

I mean, yes, sure, they add in levity in a way that I think any good, serious show has.

But this is a show about... deep trauma and horrible things happening to women and how that manifests in anger and fury and violence and also like what we as women owe to each other and complicity in our own actions and it is incredible i also just want to shout out uh steve way who's an actor in it he is physically disabled and is in a wheelchair and is giving a performance that I don't know if I've seen someone be like given the opportunity to have on screen before and it is just he is so good in this he is funny in this like in a way that he is like you know fucking with the cops and like doing funny things with his wheelchair because he's like all cops are bastards like it is a really he is so so good in this Emmy Rossum and Lola Pettigrew will probably be dueling for who gets the Emmy for this if they're in the same category.

I cannot recommend this show enough.

Um, he, uh, he did, like, one interview, which I thought was really nice, and he said this thing.

He was like, "In this show, you get to see something that not a lot of people with disabilities get to do, which is-

Like, very small moments, but every moment he gets is fantastic.

Steve Way, who many people might know from Rami.

He plays a paraplegic friend of Rami Youssef on the show Rami.

He's here, and he is absolutely hilarious.

It's about so many different things.

But there's a character in that show... who is a wheelchair user, played by the incredible Steve Way, who is someone in the disability community.
