But let's just hope we put in a good shift and we can come off the pitch Everyone thinking that they've put in a six plus performance.
M
68:05Matt WithersHOST
Yeah, what we don't want now is a Steve Evans that if you put in a performance and we get nothing from the game, I'll be happy.
M
68:12Matt WithersHOST
No, I still want us to win the game.
M
68:15Matt WithersHOST
But yeah, we want to see a much better home performance, don't we, for sure.
L2: Grimsby & Port Vale look better! What's behind Newport's improvement?
A
36:00Ali MaxwellHOST
It's almost the worst of the lot, isn't it? Yeah, I think.
A
36:02Ali MaxwellHOST
I'm very surprised that Steve Evans is still their manager today.
A
36:04Ali MaxwellHOST
I kind of thought this was going to be it.
A
36:06Ali MaxwellHOST
I think that this is a proper...
A
36:20Ali MaxwellHOST
That start of the season, the way they played early on in the campaign was really, really poor.
A
36:25Ali MaxwellHOST
What they've been like since then has been so poor.
A
36:29Ali MaxwellHOST
The only point they've got recently... with a 0-0 draw against the Swindon side who as you mentioned a second ago haven't been in great shape themselves they don't have a league game until the 14th of November so you'd think it'd be quite a good time to make a change but you know Steve Evans is so good as a manager when he gets things right but this isn't the first time we've seen things start to turn and I can't really remember him writing a ship they're in 17th at the moment if things don't improve they are in massive danger of being sucked into a relegation battle which would have seen them unthinkable given their favourites in the title a few weeks ago

Interview: former head of recruitment at Bournemouth, Des Taylor

We provided Eddie with the raw components and then he would mold them into exactly what he wanted.
D
20:41Des TaylorGUEST
And Lewis Cook, you know, Steve Evans was the manager at Leeds United at the time.
D
20:47Des TaylorGUEST
And he was playing him out of position, which was absolutely perfect for us because we knew the potential that he had in the holding midfield role.
D
20:59Des TaylorGUEST
And look at Lewis now, he's 10 years on and he's also played in excess of 300 Premier League games.

They're 16th in the table.
H
45:46Hugh WoozencroftHOST
Steve Evans, Bristol Rovers, though, have lost six of their last seven matches in all competitions and five straight away league games.
H
45:53Hugh WoozencroftHOST
So not great for them.
H
45:55Hugh WoozencroftHOST
We'll touch on them in a moment.
H
47:17Hugh WoozencroftHOST
Might be a few of the senior players starting that game.
H
47:20Hugh WoozencroftHOST
Not coming till mid-December, of course.
H
47:22Hugh WoozencroftHOST
And as we mentioned, a real downturn in fortunes for Steve Evans and Rovers, seeing if he can turn that around soon.
H
47:27Hugh WoozencroftHOST
Hopefully he can.

They started the season very, very strongly.
O
51:34Owen StanleyHOST
I think with someone like Steve Evans, I think in his post-matches throughout the season, he's always talked about players and the team from this result who would be lucky to play in the next one.
O
51:43Owen StanleyHOST
It seems like the line there has been speeding for quite a long time so far in this campaign, but they have been very, very poor for a very, very long time now, Bristol Rovers.
O
51:53Owen StanleyHOST
I don't know if

there's something to be said about the fact that I think it was just before
O

we played the match and we beat them 3-0 at home there, the rumours about Hibs and Steve Evans coming out and he very much said that was not going to happen.
O
52:05Owen StanleyHOST
There'd been no interest whether that was true or not, but since then they have been extremely poor.
O
52:11Owen StanleyHOST
They had the sole victory in there, the home victory against Exeter on September 26th, that was their last victory in gone through the whole of October, winless.

again after a really strong start to the season Bristol Rovers have taken just four points from their last nine league games so they're in a little bit of a slump and possibly looking for a distraction to reignite their season under Steve Evans there so yeah be interesting to see how that one goes we know Neil loves the FA Cup he's a traditionalist done very well in the competition himself of course all them years ago with Millwall and Neil takes a look at the week ahead here
