But what kind of messaging are we going to be hearing from the professional fire services about what additional resources are needed?
15:31
Well, I think you'll certainly continue to hear the value, as we've heard in the past several years, about the proactive mitigation strategies of trying to do forest health and those things.
15:41
Certainly on the response side, so once the fire has occurred, we continue to face challenges, as Chief Johnson already alluded to, about those scarcity of resources at times.
15:49
Also, our State Fire Marshal's Office, who actually coordinates the mobilization program, so when all of these departments go out, that has to be coordinated through their office so that there's accountability and then there's you know, many months, even years at times for just the accounting to come back.
16:04
And so making sure that those positions are adequately resourced, they have a very small staff that manages those things.
16:09
So it's a lot of times the things that aren't seen in the moment that really bear a lot of influence on how effectively the program is done.
16:16
So I think we'll continue to see a push for things like the 1168 funding that came out in 2021 that helped with a lot of those mitigation strategies.
18:18
But what does a smart strategy or a smarter strategy start to look like? Do you want to start with that, Steve?
