Can you tell us a little bit about that and what are the consequences of, uh, mutations maybe occurring in your normal somatic DNA versus your mitochondrial DNA?

So essentially, um, you know, you have these multiple compartments in your cell.

Most of the DNA that I think we think about is in the nucleus that's, you know, comes as a mixture from, you know, two parents.

Mitochondrial DNA is inherited solely from the mother, so it's in the oocyte, and, um, it is not transferred from the sperm during fertilization, and it's an incredibly small genome.

So to give a scale, it's like sixteen thousand letters of information versus about six billion pieces of information.

What about artificially or just mitochondrial transfer or transplantation in and of itself? How would something like that work? So how would you, even from a rudimentary point of view of isolation of mitochondria, say from a young cell, and then, or young cells, and then delivering that into a particular target cell or tissue, how would something like that work?
