Step Up

It's just this very much like where they're like, wow look at them like they're doing all that kind of shit and it's like you're right

it's this that you just reminded me that this movie reminded me of step up way more than i expected right because it's like there's that kind of oh you know fancy girl who can do her thing and then like guy who can't quite match her her thing but can do his own thing really well is like Yes.

There are literally like there are sequences, I think, pretty, pretty close to the middle of the movie, I guess, where like there are groups of male and female penguins like

doing

a dance off, much like in Step Up.

So that's pretty funny.

Surprisingly similar, yeah, in so many ways.

Let's take a nice trip back to 2006, okay? Oh, what a simpler time it was in life.

In the theaters, we got such classic films like The Departed, we got The Devil Wears Prada, and of course, one of my personal favorites, Step Up.

That's right, I love a good classic 2000s dancing movie.

The music world gave us hits by Snow Patrol thanks to Grey's Anatomy.

I have to be the number one guy in the group, right? Jackie's

gone.

Tom Sandoval's like, Tom Sandoval's going to step up.

I mean, it was so interesting because that story just exploded.

So I want to run somebody here.

So the formula that worked for so many of the dance films are dirty dancing to step to step up, stomp the yard.

And you got served.

I just got to say real quick.

One of my biggest guilty pleasures is this step up movies.

I don't know.

Lacey.

The villain is either wealthier, more respected than our heroine, or jealous romantic rival, and she hates our heroine with a vicious single mindlessness that seems to scooch extreme.

Oh, yeah.

Number six, the soundtrack to Step Up.

Step Up.

I don't know what Step Up is.

It's

like a dance movie.

Number five, Christ Illusion, Slayer.

Whoa.

Jenna Dewan.

From The Rookie, from Step Up.

So what happens with Jenna? Does she have to dance with someone else?

She's dancing with a pro-

Okay.

So go for it.

This, this is a good chance to tell President Trump that maybe I should step up to the plate.

No, as, as he's looking for the right guy, the right guy may be right in front of him.

Oh, that's sucks

... his celebrity partner, Step Up star Jenna Dewan, still dances with pro Alan Bersten in a routine dedicated to her mom.

Dang.

Yeah.

He's also danced in several films, Footloose, The Muppets, Clerks 2, Center Stage 2, Love and Mercy.

He also played one of the lead characters in the Step Up Revolution movie and Step Up and all the movies.

He also has worked as a choreographer on a number of shows and artists like Alicia Keys and Charli D'Amelio, campaigns for Old Navy and Nike, and worked with Twitch on The Ellen Show.

And he's also been a teacher for CLI's Masterclass series.

Yeah.

Some other stuff.

Side note, he pitched me for Step Up Revolution, actually, which is how I got the job.

It's kind of full circle.
