Final day that I'm flying solo before Mark returns.

And I've kind of touched upon this somewhat scary diagnosis I got this past week where I learned that I've got stenosis.

Stenosis is a blockage, an arterial blockage.

I've got the widow maker 52% clogged, and I'm not happy about it.

And rather than suffer in silence, now admittedly I'm not going to spend a ton of time on it on my daily talk show, but the podcast, especially on Fridays, ought to be a day where we can kind of let our hair down, what little Mark and I have left, and sort of open up about our personal lives, about things we're facing.

And Ayush has just come up with a perfect example of a mistake.

What exercises can help my stenosis? Stenosis is not the primary issue, right? You've got an injury.

We need to phrase it with the injury, right? And we can see earlier up in the comment, we've got disc stenosis.

No, you've got a herniated disc.

Most herniated discs by definition will cause stenosis.

Stenosis just means that it's narrowing the spinal canal.

That understanding is really important because if you're just trying to make a hole larger, you might do things that are gonna undermine the healing process of the disc.

Who are the hidden bosses generating these massive pressure spikes?

The most common culprits involve the renal system, the kidneys, specifically a condition called renal artery stenosis.

Stenosis means a narrowing, right?

Correct.

Renal artery stenosis is a severe narrowing of the main arteries that supply oxygenated blood directly to the kidneys.

But let’s run through the structural complications of stomas.

Stenosis.

Stenosis is a stricturing of the stoma at the skin or fascial level, almost always secondary to a chronic low-grade ischemia during the maturation process.

If it is mild and the patient can pass stool, you can gently dilate it in the clinic.

Mm.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

No, this chap here is a guy with a subacute sort of stenosis in his neck.

Stenosis, what does that mean? Tightening, restriction, small space? I think stenosis, there's a couple of ways in which we throw around this word.

I mean by definition it's just it's a narrow space.

But I think what we're going to separate is what a radiologist calls stenosis and what a surgeon calls stenosis.
