Anyway, they were up against the team predominantly of Year 12s and they were nearly all Year 11s, so they did pretty well.

And the start of that, and all you guys were on the cliff, the Bunda Cliffs over in Western Australia, and threw this bottle over, tied it onto a rope, threw it into the surf.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Now, you and I have spoken about how many tracks or roads have now become bitumen that were dirt and all the rest of it.

But from Steep Point, basically across to the Simpson, well, you're crossing Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Yeah.

He's just come back from doing the double crossing in the Simpson.

And they're driving all the way from Byron Bay, the most eastly point of WA, all the way to Steep Point.

So the most east point of Australia, Byron Bay, all the way to Steep Point, the most westly point of Australia in WA.

And a couple of days, a few days into the trip now.

And, you know, you talk about, you know, finding places.

I mean, is this a new tour that you're doing? Is this a new trip or have you done this one before?

No, no.

Look, I've done a couple of across Australia trips before, but this is the first time we've done a... you know, a Byron Bay to Steep Point one.

He was up on Big Red.

And he's running a big trip at the moment from Cape Byron to Steep Point, which is basically the most eastern point of the Australian continent to the most western point of the Australian continent.

In fact...

It was the very first trip that the Leyland brothers did, but in reverse.

In the Gascoyne, some good rain, though.

Boolardy Station had 34, Bulga Downs 8, Kerry Downs 16, Kudarti 14, Cue 10, Gascoyne Junction 9, Meekatharra 15, Mingar Springs 5, Mount Gibson 13, Mount Narryer 20, Murchison 25, Mergu 15, Main- Paynes Find 6, Shark Bay 45, Steep Point 35, Three Rivers 6, and Winyangu, I think is how you pronounce it, 10.

That's a newie for me.

Uh, in the interior, Carnegie had 13 and Warburton 12, and then in the Goldfields, Boolong 5, Credo 6, Edgedina 14, Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Leinster both had 5, Laverton 7, Leonora 6.

The only region to get any real rain was the Gascoyne.

Carnarvon had thirteen mils, Gascoyne Junction and Mingin Springs ten, Steep Point and Tangkarde five, and Three Rivers had seven, and that's it.

But Bill, uh, back in two thousand and two, I was fortunate enough to be able to walk the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea with a few mates, and some of them were farmers in the Kulin area.

One is still farming.

I mean, it was kinda stepping into it because, um, so the, the point that I started is called Steep Point.

It's in Shark Bay in Western Australia, and it's like coastal sand dune area.

So I knew that, um, I wouldn't be able to get the cart through these sand dunes, um, at the start.

It's agriculture all the way to the coast from there.

It was funny, um, Sophie's journey wasn't on my radar until I was on the walk, and people started mentioning this girl that had walked through with these five camels.

And yeah, her journey was, was the same in that she started at Steep Point and finished at the furthest east point of the mainland.

And it was in Eastern Australia that inadvertently I was walking the same route that she walked because I was just, even in these tiny little streets or tiny little towns, people would be like, "Oh, this girl came through here with camels." Sort of convergent thinking.
