Stay-at-home dad

So for a truly neutral opinion, I've come to Reddit.

IDO for bringing up how my husband helped out his family in the past because my sister-in-law kept making fun of him for being a stay-at-home father now.

Update one: So it's evening time now and after reading the comments, I have come to the conclusion that I have nothing to apologize for.

Jason and I are currently packing our stuff so we can leave because it's going to be really weird if I don't apologize and then I attend her wedding tomorrow.

Today, we're talking about something so many parents eventually have to navigate, how you balance raising a family and building a career, whether deciding who returns to work who stays home or trying to juggle both these are some of the biggest decisions families make and no two look exactly the same while there's still an expectation that mums will naturally take on the primary caregiving role more and more families are finding what works for them even if it doesn't fit the traditional mold we're really excited to chat with you today about your journey into motherhood finding out you are having twins navigating a high-risk pregnancy and how your husband cam came to the decision for him to become a stay-at-home dad while you return to work full time.

I should mention Gabby and I used to work together, but before we dive in, can you start by telling us a bit about yourself, your family and about your career journey so far?

Thank you so much for having me.

I'm sure there's been moments where Cam's like, I want to go back to work and you know, whatnot, but you, you work through it.

And so it's been so interesting.

You know, we don't, as sad as it is, we don't, hear too often about, well, we are hearing more now, but like the father being the stay-at-home dad rather than going back to work.

And I think things are really shifting on its head and it's so exciting, you know, to hear.

well, but obviously they're not, but there's, he has those tendencies.

So when it comes to me being a stay at home dad, yeah, I heard it.

I didn't go to a lot of the, we didn't go to a lot of Christmases and Thanksgivings when he first found out about it, that I told him I was quitting my job to be a stay at home, full-time stay at home dad.

He, yeah, he made fun of me all the time and he judged me and, you know, had smart remarks towards me and, And he had a lot to say, let's just say the least.

And yeah, it kind of put a wrench in our relationship for quite some time, but he's coming around.
