Statutory sick pay

Now, here's a bit of legal context that sits right underneath all of this, and it's genuinely good news for people.

Since the 6th of April this year, statutory sick pay is payable from day one, from the very first day of sickness, not the fourth.

And they've removed the lower earnings limit, so lower paid staff, who were often the ones who missed out entirely, are now covered too.
