It seems to me that the Hegseth Pentagon is a catastrophe.

It is a catastrophe, but not if you think about what I think they're shaping it for.

They're not shaping it for this war or any other war external to the United States.

What they're shaping it for is insurrection inside the United States and suppression of that insurrection.

Also, in the one month for which this government has held power, five miners have been killed in aerial bombardments.

On August 31st, the Air Force bombed a camp of the FARC dissident group Estado Mayor Central in the Amazonian department of Guaviare, an operation known as Azarias, which resulted in the deaths of 24 people, two of whom were miners.

This was the third aerial bombardment of the new government and the second to result in the deaths of adolescents.

Following Operation Azarias, the president published a video of himself walking among the bodies of those killed in the bombardment, laid out on a warehouse floor in white body bags.

Armed groups, meanwhile, continue to launch offensives against the national security forces.

On Friday, a drone attack carried out by the Ejército de Liberación Nacional ELN group killed three soldiers at a military base in the department of Norte de Santander.

Another was carried out against a police station by the Estado Mayor Central, a FARC dissident group, in the department of Cauca on Sunday.

In other security news, the previous government's total peace policy was further dismantled this week, with arrest warrants reinstated for various commanders of armed groups, including Elias Calarca, commander of the Estado Mayor de Bloques y Frente FARC dissidents.

And because of this, You not only had self-evident CIA operations like Steven Spender's magazine Encounter, which was designed to press new left stuff into the academic sphere instead of hardcore Stalinist stuff, but you also had loads of really weird liberationist brands of feminism being actively advocated within the academy that largely departed from the materialist bases that feminism had at the beginning of the 20th century.

What were these bases? Well, in order to come to an understanding of that, we can just look at the classic essay or pamphlet that was associated with the French Revolution, Qu'est-ce que c'est l'État? What is the Third Estate? by Abbé Sieyès, I think his name is.

The idea is the Third Estate does absolutely everything and it has zero political representation.

And this served to bulwark the structural organization of the government in post-French Revolutionary or contemporaneous to French Revolutionary society.
