State of Grace

love that.

Yeah, I did a movie while I was doing Goodfellas called State of Grace with Sean Penn, Gary Oldman.

I'm in the fight scene at the Intrepid.

And four years...

We're No Angels, great film.

State of Grace, great film.

Carlito's Way, oh my gosh.

Dead Man Walking, amazing.

So it's fine.

I think I've seen the movie State of Grace with Sean Penn, Gary Oldman.

Watched that last year for the first time.

I really enjoyed it.

How they did get everything wrong was...

I mean, J.K. Simmons is a great actor.

How was he playing Mickey Spillane, the gentleman gangster? Was that who he was playing? And the guy played Mickey, and both in State of Grace and in that show with MGM, they had him...

Jimmy told me Mickey said 12 words in his entire life.

Absolutely.

And let me mention real quick, too, it's a gem that not a lot of people have seen, and it's called State of Grace.

It's early 90s.

It's Sean Penn, John C. Reilly, Gary Oldman, and Ed Harris.

But it's like an Irish mob movie where Gary Oldman and Ed Harris are fucking...

And John C. Reilly is super young and great in it as well.

So highly recommend State of Grace.

That is a movie Justin hasn't seen, I believe.

You're seeing it.

Sean Penn and Robin Wright in State of Grace.

It's such a lightning in a bottle that you very rarely get.

Even if you've got like, you know, Andy Garfield and Emma Stone, they started going out in Spider-Man.

He was also in the villain of Book of Eli, yep.

He was in, uh, Oppenheimer, he was in The Hitman's Bodyguard, he was in The Firm, State of Grace, um, Pantheons, M- um, Mank, whatever that is, Interstate 60, Now by Month, Dawn of...

Oh, he was in Dawn of the Planet of the Ape.

I don't think that, uh, I think I'm missing that one.

What's the one with the noir with...

State of Grace.

The neo-noir where he's like a corrupt cop guy.

Who's in that one? Oh, God.

Been a long time.

Phil Joanou's State of Grace.

I just watched it recently too, and I think that's maybe why I was thinking about it.

It was one that, um, I remember it, it came out I think in '91, and I was in high school, and I read the review in the Washington Post.
