Startup India

Not quite the 25% they were aiming for, but progress nonetheless.

Modi also launched Startup India, an initiative to encourage the creation of new businesses.

The plan has three pillars: simplify the process for businesses by reducing unnecessary red tape, such as their new self-certification process that doesn't require inspections for the first three years; increased funding support and incentives, which they've put into practice by providing some income, capital gains, and investment tax exemptions; and finally, increased partnerships with universities to showcase innovation to students.
