I don't know if I am just misremembering, because I know I haven't had it for a long time.

But I love the Star Tropic games.

Star Tropic 2 is one I do not have as much time in, though, as the first one.

And it did come with the... with the manual as well no uh no game genie codes on this one but um and uh i yeah i just i this is a series that i wish somehow could get some form of acknowledgement or recognition again hey fingers crossed for tomorrow i mean every time there's a there's a uh direct i always have my fingers crossed for some kind of acknowledgement of star tropics um and i just yeah i don't i don't think it'll ever happen but you know you can wish you you never know you just never know um what what we could get from that Um, so played a little bit of that, just kind of, uh, tested out everything.

Um, so that was a lot of fun.

And, uh, then I have been, I played through, uh, Marvel ultimate Alliance three.

Oh my god.

Trigun, the stealth sequel to StarTropics.

Wow.

that's right so yeah i just feel like there's tons of tons Rob the robot content.

I mean, StarTropics is already on NSO.

Sure, but not StarTropics 2.

ride on a jet ski and do backflips and do you can do side flips and just you're having fun and racing and it's like this is what I love about fucking video games like man Nintendo like this is this is prime S tier like S plus tier Nintendo this is what I think of when I think of Nintendo I think of Mario I think of I think of Star Tropics I think of Legend of Zelda I think of Earthbound I think of Wave Race I think just this is what I think of like does Nintendo just making awesome just things like this is what I want from my video game like this is what I want like and yeah yeah my first game of this retrospective is going to be Wave Race Blue Storm and that's my first choice

The one thing I remember about the wave race is just like you were talking about those water graphics, the way that the water would move, the reflection of the scenery right off the water.

It was mind blowing to me at the point.

I'm pretty sure we did a mega-ranking for Mario vs. Donkey Kong month.

We did a mega-ranking for sure of Star Tropics.

Yes, yeah, absolutely.

That was not during a theme month.

In order to, at the game's finale, you kind of have to solve the secret of Jackknife Island in the north in order to unlock the final dungeon and actually complete the game.

So while at first it kind of feels like a straightforward action adventure, it gets that sort of like almost StarTropics-y sort of headspace as you go further and further into the game.

And so, like, I use StarTropics as a good example because that was a couple years later, but had, like, you know, dipped the manual in water in order to read a secret, right? It's that sort of headspace that you need to get into if you want to fully solve Higemaru Makejima.

The other really interesting things to note about this game is, one, it's a spin-off of Ghosts and Goblins.
