She is a French freedom fighter.

She debuted in Star Spangled War Stories, issue 84, in a story called Battle Doll.

So when they called her a battle doll in this, I wonder if that was a reference to that.

For some reason, I thought it was a little bit later than that, but that's pretty

cool.

She ran through a few issues of Star Spangled War stories, then she guested in some other titles like Our Army at War, issue 115, Brave and Bold, issue 52, All American Men of War, 102, she did a brief stint in GI combat, appeared in Our Fighting Force.

She's basically turned up every now and then.
