Stanley Clements

The biggest trouble came in her second marriage to director Nicholas Ray.

Gloria married Ray just 24 hours after she finalized a divorce from her first husband, actor Stanley Clements.

Scandalous in n- in its own right just for that reason, the real scandal happened in 1950 when rumors began to spread that Gloria had done the unthinkable.

As Nicholas Ray would later claim, he had come home at some point in 1950 to find Gloria in bed with his 13-year-old son from his first marriage, a boy named Anthony "Tony" Ray.

Yikes on bikes, right? Really, really, yeah, not beating those rumors that you slept with him at 13 now, are you? Suddenly, Nicholas Ray's claims that Gloria had something going on with his son didn't sound so far-fetched.

Gloria would fight the rumors and the general distaste for her marriage to Tony for the rest of her life and career, and it would cause a heap of other problems besides.

After the announcement that she had married her former stepson was confirmed, Gloria faced a legal challenge from one of her ex-husbands.

Her third husband, Sy Howard, immediately sued for full custody of the child that they shared together.
