Stacey Copeland

We'll hear from both men, look at where they are in their careers and assess how they match up ahead of this huge clash in Cardiff on December the 11th.

I'm Stacey Copeland and this is 5 Live Boxing.

And joining me, the best possible duo to guide us through it all in Steve Bunce and former WBO super featherweight world champion, Barry Jones, who between them combined almost make a modern day heavyweight, but perhaps not quite.

I'm happy with that.

We could be here all night.

It's funny because I heard Stacey Copeland talking about the Caroline Barry fight that she used to watch.

And me too.

I was like, oh my God, I'm not the only one.

I know.

yeah yeah okay and you very much talk about the rise of women doesn't mean the fall of men oh I love that quote I say that at the end of conferences and equally I always lovely Stacey Copeland the sports woman she talks about it's not I can't do my best Manchester since I'm not going to try but you know it's not like pie it's not like cutting up that if women get this men get less it's not like

that

but what makes a good advocate

It's called the Nally Stand.

And I'm sitting here, Stacey and I are sitting here, Stacey Copeland and I are sitting here like a couple of people who might be sitting down watching a sunset on the last day of their holiday.

The final sunset of a glorious day.

Seven day as you say as I said sunset they dim the lights does it feel a bit like that to you stay still? We're just at the end of a glorious gorgeous something It was called Katie Taylor's career and it started for those of us that knew about 17 18 years ago You were with her fighting alongside her at what 12 or 13 years ago.

look, the three fights against Amanda Serrano.

I was listening to the former GB boxer, Stacey Copeland, there yesterday speaking on the BBC podcast.

And she was saying how Like male boxers represent themselves, women's boxers are almost representing their entire gender.

Sometimes when you walk into a gym, it's like you're representative of all women, like, oh, if you can't do it, then women are not good or something like that.

We're in the shadows because it's pouring with rain.

So we've got to get out of the rain by Stacey Copeland.

Stacey, by the time we finish this pod in about 55, 56 minutes time, we will have talked about Katie the person.

Katie the icon, Katie the fighter.
