It was a historic moment for animal rights advocates who had been trying to shut down interstate pipelines.

As 7 News reported, a Pennsylvania truck driver was arrested for allegedly violating a state law banning the sale and transport of horses for slaughter.

Trucks were moving, horses were being moved, slaughter tags were visible on the horses, and the loading ramp was very busy.

And that's when Animals Angels, the New York State Humane Association, the Warren County District Attorney's Office, New York State Police, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and U.S. Department of Agriculture all mobilized.

State Senator Dan Steck of the 45th District, who represents part of St. Lawrence County, was also involved.

He said he presented advocates' evidence directly to state police and district attorneys.

And she started her listening tour all across the state of New York, from Buffalo to St. Lawrence County, down to Long Island, New York City, Westchester, Albany, Rochester, Syracuse.

She did her listening tour to learn the needs of the people of the great empire state of New York.

And then she ran for the United States Senate.

That was the aha moment for me to say, wait a minute, if we powered all of these requests for approvals, How much power would I have left for everybody else in the state? Give one example.

I said, how much power would all those consume? The equivalent of everything I would generate with the nuclear reactor, one nuclear reactor.

We saw back on Wednesday a bunch of county sheriffs said they were going to sue the state.

We heard first from the Rensselaer County Sheriff, Kyle Bourgeau, and he joined St. Lawrence County, Wayne County, Broome County, Madison County, Cattaraugus, Orange, Jefferson, Saratoga, Lewis, Franklin, Delaware, Fulton, Oswego and Cayuga counties.

And Governor Hochul warned both those county sheriffs and others who wanted to join the lawsuit that if they continue with those ICE agreements that she's going to come after them as well with Attorney General Letitia James through a lawsuit.
