St. John's Junior Hockey League

Uh, and we put a team together.

And you know, I give credit to St. John's Junior Hockey League were desperate at the time, and that's how we got in, out of desperation.

Because they were faltering, they had four teams, it wasn't competitive, you know, 'cause you're playing the same teams constantly, everybody makes the playoffs.

When we proposed coming in, uh, and didn't hurt that the president of the St. John's Junior Hockey League was a former Bell Island miner, who himself was, played for Bell Island in the '50s and won, you know, provincial championships, but now was the kingpin of, was considered the godfather of minor hockey and started it into Mount Pearl.

You know, Gerry Taylor.

Um, we got in first year.
