Springfield Thunderbirds

So I wanted to make sure that I gave Oscar Sundquist and Nathan Walker, um, A full segment, like I said, I was going to.

So it was announced a few days ago that Nathan Walker and Oscar Sundquist would be playing for the Springfield Thunderbirds.

And I had a couple initial thoughts.

Number one is how cool is that? for these young prospects that will be on the T-Birds to have such great mentors in the locker room and on the ice within Sonny and Walker.

Dan, I, I, the conditioning levels of the players is phenomenal.

I, my son played in two American league games this weekend for the Providence Bruins against the Springfield Thunderbirds.

I couldn't believe the pace of those games.

I was the American hockey league in their first two and only preseason games.

Oscar Sundquist, Jack Finley, and Nathan Walker have all cleared waivers.

And they will start with the Springfield Thunderbirds.

And hey, if there's injuries, I'll call them up.

And that is just another thing to be said about the depth of this organization, too, because if there are injuries at the NHL level, you're calling up guys that have tons of NHL experience with not just in the league with quite literally this team for the last couple of years.

He loves Adam Juracek.

That's part of the future of the Blues, but all four today sent back to the Springfield Thunderbirds.

The guys have been telling us there's only a spot or two, really, that's available on the roster when they break camp.

And it looks like he's going to be slotted in full time on the second line.

with mason mctavish as well but great opportunity for zach dean who did actually finish last season playing very well for the springfield thunderbirds right and through the playoffs like he was one of those players that you know when you take a look at what he did in the playoffs he did play 12 games.

He only had three points, but he was producing here for the team.

And it was mostly the second half where he did, you know, kind of come alive.

He has a big opportunity too, because they're feeding him things, right? They're giving him opportunities.

And I think at the end of last season, he did look really impressive to me too.

And again, we're not talking about this guy as if he's like, Sidney Crosby or anything like that but just playing that role specifically for this team being able to kill penalties using his body to his advantage and all that type of stuff he was bringing that to the forefront so it's another guy who's I think fighting for a spot none of these spots are set in stone except for you know that first line let's say but even then you know Dylan Holloway the other day dropping the gloves and all that fun stuff too so A lot of guys are fighting for their spots here still and I don't think anything's guaranteed in the bottom of the lineup and they have a lot of depth, they have a lot of guys that can play in the NHL and or had played in the NHL last year for this team that are going to be on the Springfield Thunderbirds so

it's going to be a fight.
