Searchers continued day and night, looking for any sign of Thomas, and then on June 17, 2020, four days after he disappeared, his body was discovered.

The full details have never been released, and the Springfield News Leader reported that his body was found a mile off the Snead Creek Trail in a drainage area.

The site was approximately 2.5 miles away from Hemden Hollow Waterfall along the Buffalo River.

At this time, no cause of death has been released, and the authorities are keeping very tight-lipped about the entire investigation.
